Simple vs. Compound Interest

Gre Glossary

Simple interest is computed only on the principal (I = Prt), while compound interest is computed on principal plus accumulated interest (A = P(1 + r/n)^nt), so compound growth outpaces simple over time. The GRE tests the distinction on money and growth problems.
