Critical Mindset

LSAT Glossary

The default analytical posture an LSAT test-taker must adopt toward every argument: actively searching for what is wrong with the reasoning rather than for reasons why it might be valid. It is the opposite of the receptive mindset most people apply when listening to someone they trust. The internal monologue is never "How could this conclusion be valid?" but always "Why doesn't this support justify this conclusion?" — a habit that must be practiced until automatic.
