  1. Verify tube placement via radiographic report.
  2. Elevate the head of the bed to 45 degrees.
  3. Aspirate gastric contents and assess pH.
  4. Flush the NG tube with 30 mL of sterile water.
  5. Connect the feeding administration set and start the pump.
