FRM Part 1 Glossary

A risk-adjusted performance measure equal to the portfolio's excess return over the risk-free rate divided by its beta (systematic risk): (Rp − Rf) / β. Appropriate when the portfolio is held as a component within a larger, well-diversified portfolio, so only its contribution to systematic risk — not total volatility — is relevant.
