Liquidity horizon

FRM Part 2 glossary · Liquidity & Treasury Risk

Definition

The time required to exit or hedge a risk position without materially disrupting market prices.

Liquidity horizon in plain English

FRTB assigns longer liquidity horizons to less liquid risk-factor categories. Longer horizons increase capital because a desk is exposed to adverse moves for longer before it can neutralize risk.
