Circle Equation
GRE glossary · Quantitative Reasoning
Definition
The coordinate form (x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2 for a circle with center (h,k) and radius r.
Circle Equation in plain English
Read the center with reversed signs from the grouped terms: (x - h) and (y - k). The number on the right is r squared, so take its square root for the radius.
