Value Creation Plan (VCP) in plain English
When a private-equity firm buys a company, it doesn't just hope the business gets better — it writes a detailed game plan for exactly how it will make more money over the next few years. That plan is the Value Creation Plan: a list of specific moves (like "cut supply costs by 8%" or "open 20 new locations"), each with a person responsible for it and a deadline. It's the difference between a coach saying "let's win more games" and handing every player a written role, a target, and a date. The whole point is to turn a vague ambition into concrete, trackable actions that actually drive the profit — and eventually the payoff when the company is sold.
