Expected value of a guess

SAT Glossary

The raw-score yield of one guess, equal to the probability of guessing correctly: 0.25 blind, 0.33 with one option eliminated, 0.50 with two, 1.00 with three. The practical reading is that late seconds are spent eliminating, not staring — a single crossed-out option is worth real expected points.
