Prediction (predict before looking at options)
SAT Glossary
Saying the answer in your own words before reading any option — the section's highest-value habit and the one most reliably skipped. It works mechanically: a distractor's persuasive power is a function of your uncertainty, so arriving with a prediction changes the question from "which of these sounds good" (which distractors are built to win) to "which matches what I determined" (which they are built to lose). It is a substitution, not an extra step, and it is faster.
