Section ceiling (lower-panel cap)

SAT Glossary

The score cap imposed by routing down: roughly 570–600 on that section even with a perfect Module 2, because a perfect run on easy items cannot separate an 800 student from a 650 student. Read the units — that is a section score, so routing down in both sections means roughly 1140–1200 composite; routing down in one leaves the other section's ceiling intact.
