The two-sizes principle (transversal)

SAT Glossary

When a transversal cuts two parallel lines, all eight angles are one of exactly two sizes and those two sizes sum to 180^circ; every pair is either equal or supplementary. Since SAT figures are drawn to scale unless marked otherwise, the eyeball test — acute matches acute, acute plus obtuse is 180 — is exact, not approximate.
