Throughout a load-balancing cycle, thread transfers occur such that the sum of threads X + Y remains constant at 2,400. Initially, Server X holds 1,500 threads. In phase one, Server X transfers 20 percent of its threads to Server Y. In phase two, Server Y transfers 30 percent of its new thread total back to Server X. In phase three, Server X transfers 10 percent of its updated thread count to Server Y.
