A candidate's composite score is w% of a Quant score plus (100 - w)% of a Verbal score, where w is a whole number from 30 through 70. Candidate A has scores (90,50), B has (60,80), and C has (80,62), listed as (Quant, Verbal). Before a new policy, A's composite is strictly above B's and strictly below C's. The policy then replaces every section score above 85 by 85 plus half of its excess above 85 before composites are calculated.
What is the sum of all values of w that are consistent with the original ranking and preserve that same strict ranking after the policy?
