An automated semiconductor plant operates two types of assembly lines: Type X and Type Y. In a 24-hour cycle, a Type X line produces 40 wafer batches and consumes 15 megawatt-hours (MWh) of power, while a Type Y line produces 25 wafer batches and consumes 10 MWh of power. During one cycle, the plant produced a total of 710 wafer batches and consumed 270 MWh of power. If plant safety protocols dictate that the number of operational Type Y lines cannot exceed twice the number of operational Type X lines
What is the total number of operational assembly lines (X + Y) at the plant?
- 14
- 18
- 20
