Analyst: Some argue statins should be prescribed to all adults over fifty. **In low-risk patients, statins prevent very few heart attacks while exposing many to side effects.** Proponents reply that the drugs are cheap. But cost is not the only burden. **Therefore blanket prescription to low-risk adults is unwarranted.**

The two boldface portions function respectively as:

  1. The first is the position the analyst opposes; the second is a concession the analyst makes to that position.
  2. The first is a consideration the analyst uses to support the conclusion; the second is that conclusion.
  3. The first is the main conclusion; the second is a restatement offered for emphasis.
  4. The first is an objection proponents raise; the second rebuts that objection.
  5. Both are premises that jointly establish the proponents' recommendation.
