Sampling Bias
GMAT glossary · Verbal Reasoning
Definition
Systematic error caused when a sample does not represent the population named in a conclusion.
Sampling Bias in plain English
Compare who was actually measured with the population named in the conclusion. If selection makes one type of person more likely to appear, the sample can be large and still systematically misleading.
