State Vector Override
GMAT glossary · Playbook
Definition
Freezing a multi-attribute item as a state vector, changing one coordinate, and recomputing the output so the delta stays obvious.
State Vector Override in plain English
Pull State Vector Override when a multi-attribute item is easier once you freeze a state vector and override one coordinate. Clues include holding all else equal, change only X, or scenario table. Write the current state as a vector; change one field; recompute the output. Rewriting the whole story each time invites inconsistency; the vector makes the delta obvious and keeps the other coordinates honest. This is especially useful on DI scenario tables. Micro-example: a plan is (price=10,; qty=5,; tax=0.1). Override qty to 6 and recompute revenue with tax, without rewriting price and tax from scratch each time.
