Debt financing packages offered alongside a sale process to help potential buyers.
Staple Financing in plain English
Staple financing is a ready-made loan package that the seller of a company lines up in advance and offers to whoever wants to buy it — the terms are figuratively 'stapled' to the sale documents. The point is to make buying easier and faster: instead of each bidder scrambling to arrange their own borrowing, they can just grab the pre-arranged loan, which tends to attract more buyers and push the price up. It's like a used-car dealer who says 'and by the way, financing is already approved if you want it' — removing a hurdle so more people bid. The seller's bankers usually put it together, and a buyer is free to use it or find their own loan instead.
