CFA Level I Glossary

In credit-card ABS, the lockout or revolving period is when principal collections are reinvested in new receivables rather than paid down to investors. Investors mainly receive finance-charge related cash flows during this phase. It extends the deal and keeps the pool outstanding. Early amortization can end lockout early if performance triggers trip.
