Fractal Structure
Elliott Wave Theory glossary · Elliott Wave Theory
Definition
Self-similar structure at multiple scales. Each wave contains sub-waves obeying the same structural rules as the larger wave.
Fractal Structure in plain English
This is the same idea as a fractal, said plainly: the market's structure repeats itself at every size. Each wave is made of mini-waves that obey the same rules the big wave does, and those mini-waves are made of even tinier ones doing the same thing. Picture a tree — the way the trunk splits into branches is echoed by how each branch splits into twigs; one design, copied at shrinking scales.
