Definition

Quantitative data that can take any value within a range.

Continuous Data in plain English

Continuous data is measurement that can land on any value in a range, including endless in-between amounts, no gaps. Your height is a perfect example: you're not just '5 feet' or '6 feet,' you could be 5.7 feet, or 5.72, or 5.7241 if the ruler were precise enough. That's different from countable things like the number of siblings you have, which jump 0, 1, 2 with nothing between. Whenever a value could get more and more exact the closer you look, it's continuous.
