Round Number
Volume Price Analysis glossary · Wyckoff'S Laws & The Four Market Phases
Definition
A psychologically significant price level (e.g., $100 in equities, 1.2500 in forex) where retail traders cluster orders; often visible as volume concentration.
Round Number in plain English
Humans love tidy numbers, so prices like $100 a share or 1.2500 in currency act like magnets — tons of people place their buy and sell orders right at those neat levels. Because so many orders pile up in one spot, you often see a burst of volume (lots of trading activity) when price reaches a round number. It's the same reason a store prices things at $9.99 or sets a goal of exactly 1,000 followers — round figures feel important to our brains, and that shared psychology leaves a real footprint on the chart.
