Reverse Up-Thrust

Volume Spread Analysis Glossary

Also called Professional Support: a wide-spread down-bar, closing on the highs, on high (but not ultra-high) volume, occurring during a decline; the bar may gap down at the open and the following bar ideally gaps up. It is a less extreme variant of stopping volume—a mini selling climax in which professional buying enters to slow or halt the down-move. Subsequent low-volume down-bars (no selling pressure) confirm that the strength is genuine.
