Ending Diagonal

Definition
A diagonal triangle occurring in the Wave 5 or Wave C position, signalling trend exhaustion. All ve internal waves are three-wave corrective structures.
Ending Diagonal in plain English
An ending diagonal is the market's 'running out of gas' signal. It's a wedge-shaped, five-wave pattern that shows up only in the final leg of a move — either Wave 5 of a trend or Wave C of a correction — and its appearance warns that the trend is exhausted and about to reverse. What makes it special is that all five of its inner waves are themselves three-part, choppy corrective structures (not clean strong pushes), which is a sign the buyers or sellers are getting tired and can only manage weak, overlapping steps. It's like a runner's last few strides before they stop: shorter, wobblier, clearly near the end.
