Post-Triangle Thrust
Elliott Wave Theory glossary · Corrective Structures & Sub Wave Math
Definition
The explosive move following a triangle completion, typically approximately equal to the width of Wave A. Often a high-confidence entry.
Post-Triangle Thrust in plain English
A triangle in the market is a coiling, squeeze-tightening pattern where price swings get smaller and smaller, like a spring being wound up. The post-triangle thrust is the sudden explosive move that fires off once that spring releases, and it tends to travel about the same distance as the triangle's widest swing (Wave A). Because the pattern is so recognizable and the payoff so measurable, traders often treat this breakout as one of the more reliable moments to jump in. Think of pulling back a slingshot: the tighter the coil, the more predictable the launch.
