Parallel Flaw Question
LSAT glossary · Logical Reasoning
Definition
Recognition: “Which argument is most similar in reasoning?” / “Which exhibits flawed reasoning most similar?” Task: Match logical structure, not content.
Parallel Flaw Question in plain English
A Parallel Flaw question gives you an argument that's broken in some specific way, then asks which of five OTHER arguments is broken in the exact same way. The catch is that the right answer is almost never about the same topic — one argument might be about dogs and the correct match about tax policy. You're matching the skeleton of the reasoning, not the flesh. Picture recognizing that two different jokes use the same trick: strip away the words and you see the identical faulty move underneath, like both assuming that because something is popular it must be true.
