Definition
An LR question type asking which answer choice makes the argument more or less convincing. Requires identifying the argument's vulnerability and finding an answer that addresses it.
Strengthen/Weaken Question in plain English
These questions give you an argument and ask you to find the answer that makes it stronger (more convincing) or weaker (easier to doubt) — like adding a supporting witness versus poking a hole in the story. The trick is that every argument secretly LEANS on some assumption the author never stated; strengthen answers back that assumption up, and weaken answers knock it out. So your first move is always to hunt for that unspoken weak spot, then pick the answer that either props it up or kicks the leg out from under it.
