VAP (Volume at Price)
Volume Price Analysis glossary · Support, Resistance & Breakout Mechanics
Definition
A visualization that displays volume as horizontal bars at each price level, revealing the concentration of activity.
VAP (Volume at Price) in plain English
Normally a volume chart shows bars along the bottom telling you how much traded in each slice of time. VAP flips that idea sideways: it stacks horizontal bars next to each price level, showing how much trading happened AT that exact price. This instantly reveals where the crowd was most active — the longer bars mark prices lots of people cared about, which often act as strong support or resistance later. Think of it like a heat map of a hiking trail showing which spots got the most footprints.
