Open Rejection Reverse (ORR)
Volume Profile Analysis glossary · Auction Theory & Market Profile (TPO)
Definition
An opening with an initial directional move that is quickly rejected and reverses through the opening print.
Open Rejection Reverse (ORR) in plain English
Remember the 'opening print' is the day's first traded price. An Open Rejection Reverse starts like a move in one direction — say price ticks up — but the crowd quickly refuses those higher prices ('rejects' them), and price flips around and drives back the OTHER way, crossing all the way back through that opening print. It's like a store raising a price at open, seeing zero buyers, and slashing it below the original tag within minutes. That fast fake-out-then-reverse often signals the true direction is the OPPOSITE of the first little move.
