No Demand Bar
Volume Price Analysis glossary · Testing Supply/Demand & Continuation Signals
Definition
An up candle with narrow spread and low volume, indicating absence of buying interest; confirms the insiders have withdrawn.
No Demand Bar in plain English
Volume Price Analysis assumes the "insiders" — the big banks and funds with the real money — are the ones who actually push prices. A No Demand bar is a price candle that closes UP (higher than it opened) but is short and rides on very LOW volume. The intuition: prices can only keep climbing if lots of people are eagerly buying, and low volume proves they aren't. It's like a party where the music's still playing but almost everyone has quietly gone home — the big buyers have stepped away, so this little rise probably can't last.
