A Solstice Labs team member is consistently skipping 'pairing' sessions, stating they prefer to learn by 'reading the documentation' in private. The documentation is currently outdated.
What should the project manager do?
- Escalate the outdated documentation issue to the PMO and ask for a team of technical writers to fix it.
- Meet with them privately to discuss why pairing is preferred for this complex task and identify if there is an underlying issue with pairing.
- Accept their preference and tell them to update the documentation as they learn from it.
- Mandate that they attend all pairing sessions and use a timer to ensure they stay for the full duration, without revisiting the agreed prioritization criteria.
