hard · Project Management Professional hybrid
Nimbus Clinics is migrating to a hybrid telehealth system. A stakeholder from the marketing department requests a change that would allow patient data to be shared with third-party advertisers to offset project costs. This is not currently prohibited by the existing patient consent form, but it is ethically questionable.
What should the project manager do?
- Add the request to the Product Owner's backlog as a 'High-Value' item for prioritization.
- Submit a change request to the CCB to update the patient consent forms to include this data sharing, while documenting the decision in the issue log.
- Consult with the ethics committee and the data privacy officer regarding the proposal's alignment with organizational values.
- Reject the request outright as it violates the project manager's personal code of ethics.
