hard · Project Management Professional hybrid
The Nimbus Clinics laboratory expansion is a hybrid project. The architectural work (predictive) is at the 'Identify Risks' stage. The software team (adaptive) is currently in a retrospective. A team member from the software team identifies a risk that the lab's new automation protocol might not be compatible with the legacy database.
What should the project manager do first?
- Ask the software team to add a 'Spike' story to the current sprint to investigate the compatibility.
- Record the risk in the project risk register and assign an owner to perform a qualitative analysis.
- Tell the team member to bring the risk up at the next architectural phase gate review.
- Submit a change request to the CCB to change the database architecture immediately.
