Degree
Elliott Wave Theory glossary · Complex Corrections & Combination Logic
Definition
The hierarchical level of a wave within the fractal structure. Standard degrees range from Grand Supercycle (centuries) to Sub-Minuette (minutes).
Degree in plain English
A market chart looks the same whether you zoom way out to decades or way in to minutes — small wave patterns nest inside bigger ones that nest inside even bigger ones, like a set of Russian nesting dolls. 'Degree' is just the label for which size level a wave belongs to, from the enormous Grand Supercycle that plays out over centuries down to the tiny Sub-Minuette that unfolds in minutes. Naming the degree keeps analysts from mixing up a small ripple with a giant ocean swell when they're both on the same chart.
