X-Wave
Elliott Wave Theory glossary · Complex Corrections & Combination Logic
Definition
A connecting corrective wave that links two basic corrective patterns within a combination structure.
X-Wave in plain English
Sometimes a market's "correction" (the pullback that moves against the main trend) isn't one tidy shape but two smaller corrective shapes glued together, and the X-Wave is the glue. Think of a road trip broken into two legs with a short connecting hop in the middle — the X-Wave is that connecting hop that links the first correction to the second. It's a minor counter-move, not part of the main trend, and its only job is to join the two pieces into one bigger combined correction.
