Definition
To officially decide a case.
Adjudicate in plain English
To adjudicate means to officially make a decision on a case, the way a judge or an official reaches a final ruling. When a USCIS officer 'adjudicates' your application, they review your file and decide yes or no. It's the moment your paperwork stops being 'under review' and becomes a real, binding answer.
