Composite Profile
Volume Profile Analysis glossary · Value Migration & Reference Levels
Definition
A Volume Profile aggregated across multiple sessions (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly composites). Reveals durable structural levels not visible in single-session profiles.
Composite Profile in plain English
A Composite Profile answers the question: "Where has the crowd REALLY done its business over a long stretch — not just today?" Instead of tracking traded volume for a single day, you stack many days (or weeks or months) together into one big picture, so the prices where tons of trading happened over that whole span stand out. Think of it like a foot-traffic heatmap for a park built from a whole season of visits instead of one afternoon — the truly popular benches and paths show up clearly, even if any single day looked random. Those long-run busy prices tend to be sturdy, meaningful levels that keep mattering, which a one-day view would miss.
