Volume Profile Analysis glossary · Value Migration & Reference Levels
Definition
A Point of Control from a prior session that has not been revisited by subsequent price action. Acts as a magnetic reference target.
Naked POC (nPOC, Virgin POC) in plain English
The Point of Control (POC) is the single price where the most trading happened in a session — the market's "most popular" price. A Naked POC is one from an earlier day that price has NOT come back to touch since; because it marks an old zone of heavy agreement, markets often drift back to it like a magnet, making it a natural target. Picture a well-worn spot on a couch everyone keeps sitting in — even after you get up, people tend to gravitate back to it. Traders watch these untouched levels above or below current price as likely places the market will eventually revisit.
