Higher High / Higher Low
Volume Price Analysis glossary · Validation Vs. Anomaly (Spread & Volume)
Definition
Sequential price structure confirming uptrend: each successive swing high exceeds the prior, each pullback low stays above the prior pullback.
Higher High / Higher Low in plain English
Prices never move in a straight line; they zig-zag, making little peaks (highs) and dips (lows) along the way. "Higher High / Higher Low" simply means each new peak climbs above the last peak, AND each dip stops above the previous dip. That combination is the fingerprint of a healthy uptrend, because it shows buyers keep paying more and sellers can't push price back as low as before. Think of climbing a staircase: every step and every landing sits higher than the one before, so you know you're genuinely heading up, not just bouncing in place.
