Jump Across the Creek (JAC)

Definition
Wyckoff metaphor for a Sign of Strength: an aggressive rally over a defined resistance ('creek') that confirms accumulation has ended.
Jump Across the Creek (JAC) in plain English
Wyckoff (an old market analyst) told a little story to make a pattern memorable. Imagine price has spent weeks trading sideways in a range while big players quietly buy up shares ('accumulation'). The top of that range is a 'creek' — a barrier price keeps failing to cross. A Jump Across the Creek is when price finally rockets up and over that barrier on strong buying, like a hiker taking a running leap across a stream instead of tiptoeing. It's a 'Sign of Strength' that signals the quiet buying is done and a real up-move has begun.
