Wyckoff, Richard D. in plain English
Richard D. Wyckoff (1873–1934) was a stock-market pioneer who, over a century ago, figured out how to read the market by studying volume and price together — the foundation everything Anna Coulling teaches is built on. He boiled it down to three simple laws: supply and demand (more eager buyers than sellers pushes price up, and vice versa), cause and effect (a bigger buildup of buying or selling 'cause' leads to a bigger price 'effect'), and effort versus result (volume is the effort, and price movement is the result — when big effort produces a tiny result, something's off). Knowing his name matters because he's the original source: when modern VPA talks about 'smart money' and reading volume, it's Wyckoff's ideas still at work.
