Grayling Software is midway through a fixed-date release. The Product Owner wants to swap a 'Must-Have' feature for a 'Could-Have' feature because the CEO likes the 'Could-Have' visual.
What should the PM do?
- Inform the CEO that the Must-Have feature is contractually required and cannot be swapped.
- Suggest adding both features and using the 'Agile Contract' buffer to cover the cost.
- Accept the change because the CEO is the ultimate stakeholder and their preference overrides the backlog, after reviewing the current risk register entries.
- Facilitate a 'Business Case' review with the PO to compare the value and risk of the Must-Have versus the CEO's preference.
