Volume Price Analysis glossary · Validation Vs. Anomaly (Spread & Volume)
Definition
In VPA terminology, the candle's body / net price change; should be commensurate with the volume effort spent.
Result in plain English
In Volume Price Analysis, every price bar tells a story of EFFORT versus RESULT. The 'result' is how far the price actually moved — the length of the candle's solid body, the net gain or loss for that bar. The whole game is checking whether the result matches the effort: if a huge amount of volume (lots of effort) produces only a tiny price move (weak result), something's off — big players may be quietly selling into the buying. It's like flooring the gas pedal and the car barely creeps forward: that mismatch tells you a hidden force is pushing the other way.
