Support/Resistance flip
Volume Profile Analysis glossary · Profile Anatomy & Volume Nodes
Definition
Price action in which a prior resistance level, once broken, functions as subsequent support (or vice versa). A high-probability structural setup.
Support/Resistance flip in plain English
A support/resistance flip is when a price level that used to act as a ceiling (where price kept getting rejected) breaks, and then that same level starts acting as a floor that holds price up — or the reverse. The idea is that once a wall is smashed through, it becomes a shelf you can stand on: the crowd that once sold there now often buys there instead. Traders like this setup because that old, well-tested level tends to matter again, giving a fairly reliable spot to enter with a clear line for where you're wrong.
