HVN (High Volume Node)
Volume Profile Analysis glossary · Profile Anatomy & Volume Nodes
Definition
A price level within a Volume Profile at which substantial volume has transacted. HVNs tend to act as support/resistance in subsequent price action.
HVN (High Volume Node) in plain English
Picture a graph turned on its side that shows how much trading happened at each price. A High Volume Node is a fat, wide part of that graph — a price where TONS of buying and selling got done. It matters because it's like a crowded, popular hangout spot: when the price wanders back to it later, it tends to slow down and stick there, acting as a floor (support) or ceiling (resistance), because lots of people care about that price and are ready to trade at it.
